DualRep Database, LLC ("Company" or "We") provides a platform (the “Service”) through which, lawyers, lenders and lead generators may avoid the cost and complications arising when lawyers represent the same client at the same time on the same matter. Our customers (“You”) are these businesses, not individuals seeking legal representation. This Privacy Policy, along with our Terms of Use, governs your use of our Website (www.dualrep.com including any content, functionality or service offered on it) and Service.
This Privacy Policy sets forth our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing your Client’s Personal Information. If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use our Website or Service. By accessing or using this Website, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
In this Policy, we refer to “Personal Information,” which is data about an individual who can be identified from that data, or by combining it with other data. Personal Information is usually a name in combination with another identifier, such as date of birth, postal address, email address, telephone number, or government-issued identification number. Personal Information does not include anonymous or aggregated data that can no longer be used to identify a specific person, even if combined with other data. The specific definition of Personal Information varies from one jurisdiction to another.
Information We Collect
We will collect business contact information from you. To use the Service, you will need to enter some of your Client’s Personal Information such as name, postal address, email address, telephone number, birthdate, social security number and information about the client’s litigation (“Client’s Personal Information”). It is your obligation to obtain any necessary consents and provide any necessary notices to your Clients before providing us with your Client’s Personal Information.
We also collect information about your use of our Website or our Service, your use of other websites, and other information about you or your business. We may combine the information we obtain from third parties with information that we or our affiliates have collected about you.
We do not collect or maintain your payment information. Payments are processed by our third party service provider, Stripe.
Use of Information
We use the Client’s Personal Information you enter only to provide our Service and help law firms and clients avoid dual representation. DualRep only allows authorized subscriber law firms, lenders, and lead generators to search for and upload case information for these limited purposes.
For information about you and your business, we use it:
- To present our Website and its contents to you.
- To provide you with information, or services that you request from us.
- To carry out our obligations and enforce our contractual rights.
- To notify you about changes to our Website, products or the Service.
- To allow you to participate in interactive features on our Website.
- For any other purpose with your consent.
Sharing of Information
We do not disclose your Client’s Personal Information to third parties.
We may disclose information about you and your business:
- To the employees of DualRep Database, LLC on an as-needed basis to perform the Service.
- To participating law firms,, lenders and lead generators, and their subsidiaries and affiliates, in providing the Service.
- To service providers we use to support our business and who are bound by contractual obligations to keep Personal Information confidential and use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it to them.
- To comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including to respond to any government or regulatory request.
- To enforce or apply our Terms of Use and other agreements, including for billing and collection purposes.
- As necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Company, its employees, our customers, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.
- To fulfill the purpose for which the Personal Information was provided.
- For any other purpose disclosed by us when you provided the information.

Cookies
When you visit and navigate our Website, we may collect certain information about your device, IP address, operating system and browser type. Such information may also include traffic data, location data, logs, communication data and the resources that you access and use on the Website.

Do Not Track

Accessing and Correcting Your Information

We may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.

For California residents under age 18 who have publicly posted content or information, you may request and obtain removal of such content or information pursuant to California Business and Professions Code Section 22581, provided you are registered user of any Website where this Policy is posted. To make such a request, please send an email with a detailed description of the specific content or information to admin@dualrep.com and put “Privacy” in the subject line. Please be aware that such a request does not ensure complete or comprehensive removal of the content or information you have posted and that the law may not require or allow removal in all instances, even if requested.
California's "Shine the Light" law (Civil Code Section § 1798.83) permits users of our Service that are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of Personal Information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. Data Security
We have implemented measures designed to secure both your business information and your Client’s Personal Information from accidental loss and unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. Descriptions of these measures are listed below.
- Use of SSL:
- SSL guarantees that the data being shared on a particular site is protected.
- Secure API:
- All API calls are made over SSL which encrypts data when it is being transferred. Token based authentication for additional security. API is built to handle SQL injection attacks.
- Data Storage:
- Data is stored in the database which sits behind a Firewall. Only certain IP ranges and authorized users can access the information and cannot be accessed by any unauthorized personnel.
- User authentication passwords are stored in encrypted format.
- File Storage:
- Uploaded files are stored in the Server and do not have direct access to any unauthorized user. Files are only accessible via authorized users. Any file shared to a user via email has a masked URL that can only be accessed by the user possessing the URL.
- Only rejected files can be accessed using a URL that is shared via email notifications. It is a public URL and doesn’t require the user to login. The uploaded files can’t be accessed by any portal users in any way unless they have access to the server.
- Data Access:
- Data is accessed over SSL with auth headers, all APIs are secure with auth tokens generated using SHA HMAC algorithm.
- Payment Processing:
- DualRep uses Stripe for payment processing and does not store any payment information other than the last 4 digits of a card for reference. All payment information is stored with Stripe and payments are posted directly through Stripe.
The safety and security of you and your Client’s Personal Information also depends on you. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password for access to certain parts of our Website, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone. We urge you to be careful about giving out information in public areas of the Website like message boards. The information you share in public areas may be viewed by any user of the Website.
Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect you and your Client’s Personal Information, we cannot guarantee the security of you and your Client’s Personal Information transmitted to our Website. Any transmission of you and your Client’s Personal Information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the Website.
Changes to Our Privacy Policy
It is our policy to post any changes we make to our privacy policy on this page with a notice that the privacy policy has been updated on the Website home page. If we make material changes to how we treat our users' Personal Information, we will notify you through a notice on the Website home page. The date the privacy policy was last revised is identified at the top of the page. You are responsible for ensuring we have an up-to-date active and deliverable email address for you, and for periodically visiting our Website and this privacy policy to check for any changes.
